Hot Tub Models

As we said before, there are two different ranges available in the Catalina lineup, including the Catalina Luxury and the Catalina Classic. You'll find six models in the Luxury range and eight models in the Classic range.

Compared to a few other spa manufacturers on the market, such as Jacuzzi or Cal Spas, the lineup may seem quite sparse. However, the company provides consumers with plenty of customization options for those who want to build something unique.

Catalina Luxury Line

The Luxury lineup includes six models, including the Nantucket, Armstrong, Kennedy, Berkshire, Hampton, and Carlton.

Here you'll find extensive jet counts and a variety of high-end features, including Gecko K-1000 Spa Controls.

Some of the top features of the Catalina Luxury Line spas include the Balboa WaveTEC 254 UV Sanitizer, LED Backlit Magnetic Pillows, the Eternitree Forever Frame, and SynthaWood Skirting.

The lighting the company added onto these spas is absolutely incredible, giving you total control over the ambiance of your space.

Enjoy the single LED water fountain, two LED floating crystal balls, an LED backlit cup holder, and LED backlit water sports with a cascading spillway.

You can even enjoy a soak with some of your favorite tunes making use of the Bluetooth Audio speakers and subwoofer combo.

Catalina Classic Line

The spas in the Catalina Classic Line range from three-person to eight-person in terms of capacity. There are five smaller tubs to choose from, including the Neptune Premium, Saber Premium, Samoa Premium, Raptor Premium, and CL360, as well as three larger tubs with advanced features and greater numbers of jets and pumps, including the XL 21000, the XL 22000, and the XL 26000.

Similar to the Luxury line, you get a wide variety of LED lighting features to create the perfect ambiance in your backyard, including LED backlit controls, LED underwater lights, custom crystal LED backlit jets, an 18" LED spillover waterfall, and, of course, the LED backlit cup holders.

To keep your tub as clean as possible, the Classic line comes with the Clear View H-100 Ozone Sanitization System, which breaks down contaminants in water to enhance the overall effectiveness of chlorine or bromine.

Some of the additional features you'll find in the Classic Line tubs include the Reverse Hot Seat, Insulated Cover, Full Foam Insulation, and Bluetooth Compatible Audio with Speakers and Subwoofer.

Swim Spa Models

While Catalina has a wide range of hot tubs to choose from, the company might be better known for its wide variety of swim spas.

Catalina Swim Spas are broken down into four lineups, including the Fitness 200 Series, the Olympic 400 Series, the Catalina 600 Series, and the Pool 800 Series.

It should be noted that Catalina introduced the world's very first swim spa in 1980.

Compared to other manufacturers, Catalina swim spas are some of the most innovative in the industry today.

From the smaller exercise-focused models, such as the 12'6" Newporter and 12'6" Malibu to the larger Pool 800 Series, such as the 16', 62"-high Pool and the 21' Pool, you have a lot to choose from when browsing Catalina Swim Spas.

Enjoy a wide variety of LED lights, including 6 LED-lighted cup holders, 2 LED waterfalls, an 18" Spillover Waterfall, a Lighted Jet Package, and so much more.

Choose between three different cabinet colors as well, including Grey PVC, Walnut PVC, and Mocha PVC, for a clean and natural look. You can also choose to outfit your swim spa with Sterling or Cameo acrylic depending on the look you're going for.

Catalina swim spa models are very customizable, giving you plenty of options to make the one you choose all your own.

Brand Pros & Cons

Pro - Tons of Customization

Every model in the Catalina Spas lineup leaves room for customization, meaning you have the option to create the perfect Catalina spa for your needs. With a wide variety of features to choose from, it's pretty easy to create a one-of-a-kind tub. Even if you decide to go with the company's budget-friendly mode, the CL360, you still get access to underwater lighting, LED-lighted controls, Bluetooth Compatibility, and a calming waterfall.

In the Luxury Range, you'll find plenty more features to choose from, including HydroFalls, cup holders, LED-backlit magnetic pillows, and a wide range of sanitation options.

Pro - Easy Control Features

Every Luxury Catalina Spa comes equipped with a Gecko K-100 control system, which is a major game-changer.

With the high-end color touchscreen found on the Gecko K-100 controls, you get total control over all of the parameters of your Catalina spa. You can stay up-to-date with the chemical condition that your Catalina Spa is in and run various cleaning programs when necessary.

The control system is Wi-Fi enabled, meaning you can perform all of these actions from your smartphone, which is pretty impressive. Your tub will always be in the best condition possible.

Pro - Tons of Color Schemes

Depending on the color scheme you want, Catalina gives you plenty of options to choose from. With a range of unique cabinet and tile colors to choose from in the Luxury range, it is pretty easy to create a spa or swim spa that fits in beautifully with the rest of your backyard.

Con - Lack of Model Choices

For such a large company, it is quite surprising how small the Catalina Spas lineup is. Compared to other popular manufacturers out there, such as Jacuzzi, you are limited to very few models to choose from. While the customizations can make up for the lack of choices, some people just want to buy a "turnkey" hot tub without having to think about adding any special features.

Final Verdict - Should I Buy A Spa from Catalina Spas?

With so many cool lighting, sanitization, and water features to choose from, and a variety of mid-range to high-end spas and swim spas, Catalina Spas is one of our favorite spa manufacturers on the market today. From exercise to hydrotherapy, this is one of the many brands that focus on quality, service, and leisure above all.

The Luxury range is where it's at, featuring smarthome-style Gecko controls, which allows the company to compete with some of the biggest spa manufacturers in the business today. The Classic lineup lacks some of the powerful features we see in hot tubs today, though you can make additional customizations to offset the limitations.
